Alexander McQueen filled windows with the most decadent decorations possible, you would swear this was a Holiday Window. Bergdorf Goodman honors the late legendary designers' impeccable talent by flexing their own for the
Metropolitan's Savage Beauty show. I shot these on Sunday night...while the world found out about Bin Laden, I was being swept into the most dreamy world possible. I spent almost an hour shooting these, I normally shoot Bergdorfs in 20 minutes. Between the news of the world and my own chills honoring a man I have loved dearly since first discovering his talent over a decade ago, I had an out of body experience. I urge every single person in New York to see these and the exhibit as soon as possible, this is art that cannot be ignored. Bravo Bergdorfs. If you'd like to see a behind the scenes,
vogue.com has a wonderful images and a write up.
[Yes there are a lot of images, a lot of angles, but I have never been near any of these pieces before and I had to get them every way I could ever dream of. I pray to the fashion gods that I can shoot at the exhibition but it's usually no photos. Can you imagine though? I would seriously be there for 12 hours perfecting every single detail and frame. Press pass 2012?]
I hate having to even say this [because this should be common sense and common courtesy] but please reblog with proper link back credit if you decide to run these images.
Started off with Andrew Gn
My beloved iced out gator with some Victoria Beckham bags.
Now for McQueen...This shoe, oh my sweet sweet Prince.
The hair is an amazing look for this whole dress.
Could not get enough of this dress...seriously magical.
Pointing to greatness...
Flawless. The bottom was covered in black feathers...the best.
WAX!
Stella McCartney should consider this in the future, given her love of floral things.
Hologram, just like the book. Which is on a great sale
on Amazon and on it's way home to me.
The most difficult window to shoot, I don't think I did it justice but it was really dark :(
Pretending the man in the kilt above is McQueen, until proven otherwise.
The final window/collection...I some how didn't cry but I couldn't stop shooting. I've waited to see it in person since the moment it debuted on the runway.
I was so excited to finally see this shoe in real life.
I wish it wasn't hidden towards the back :(
I live for this.
Bergdorfs, you are forever handy with glue guns and mirrors...seriously, this is the best detailing of all.
