Saks 5th Avenue

Oh Saks, as I was shooting the side windows, they were removing the fail Chanel front display. I wonder what kind of boring "new" concept they'll display this week. Is it the holiday season yet? Because that is what I want.

I'm really into this display, the black with the bright colours--perfect for fall. And probably one of the best displays I've seen from Saks in awhile. I can't decide if it's desperation to find something good or it's actually above average. What happened Saks? I thought we were working on becoming better.

Barneys

Thank you everyone for the sweet comments and emails. Not only do I love what's happening, but I love the interaction! And now everyone is asking me to get a twitter and I'm scared I'll finally collapse under the immense peer pressure. I won't do it! It goes against my ~moral beliefs~ or whatever.

The night I shot these images, Barneys was just finishing up their windows and I developed the courage to write a little message on my Blackberry to compliment the massive improvement from last weeks um...special mess. He agreed that the windows were a mess last week and thanked me for loving this weeks. BUT HOW CAN YOU NOT?! This week Barneys > Bergdorfs. Oh my god, end of world status. But seriously Barneys, more of this and less of whatever that Made in the USA and the Sartorialust yawn thing was.

Barneys loves Details. I love the gritty New York signage accessories.

Lanvin windows! If I can't have a Lanvin store in NY, someone needs to put up a weekly Lanvin window. I appreciate the shared obsession Barneys.

And what goes best next to a Lanvin window?
BALENCIAGA
BALENCIAGA! And what's better than just displaying things? Taking bags and making them into masks, eyes, whatever...so clever. This is where I harassed the window dresser. haha. I'm sure gasping and hopping in place was a normal sight for him.

How clever is this?! I love it. Seriously Barneys, A+

As we all know, I don't use flash [and that includes non-window things as well] but I had to bust out the flash because the lights weren't set up at all and I know how excited all the hipsters...everyone is for Where The Wild Things Are and I thought the display was adorable. And for those keeping track, this is the second time I have ever used flash on a window. The first was last year on Chanel.

Modelizing x NBCs The Thread

YAY I CAN SHARE MY BIG NEWS!! On Modelizings anniversary I had the most amazing meeting with Laurel Pinson, who is the Editor of NBCs new fashion blog, The Thread. Which everyone should be reading because it's sarcastically witty and brilliant. Which is what I try to be, but usually I just end up just being sarcastic, semi witty, and questionably brilliant. Long story short, I was offered to partner up with The Thread and share my window obsession on a much larger internet platform. Naturally I said YES! And after a few fist bumps in the middle of Rockefeller Center [prior to which we saw Matt Damon being hunted down by the paps, so we knew it was destiny] it became official.

My Tom Ford entry is up on the site and I just wanted to share it with all of my loyal readers and new readers and everyone in between. I'm so excited and grateful that for once in my life, I'm speechless.

Thank you.

Tom Ford

Dear Tom Ford,

Thank you. Seriously, thank you.

Perfection, simple as that. I love the Hitchcock feeling to these windows. Which makes perfect sense now that Toms long awaited movie projected, A Single Man, has a trailer and has melted minds with its breathtaking scenes.
