I'm not sure, maybe it's the summer or maybe Simon is just swamped. But Barneys has gotten lazy and confusing in many respects. I'll just chalk this up to a bad week, but if it happens again, there will be KANYE WRITING!!!!

Hermes

I thought Hermes deserved it's own post because the windows made me happy with paintings by Joseph Piccillo. And because I loved loved loved the styling.

Obsessed with this concept. It's like that ugly Tom shoe boot but not ugly. Hermes is magical.

I have no idea what this game is, but I want it.

Pucci, Etro, Jimmy Choo, Roberto Cavalli

These shoes....magical and certainly hooker approved.


Etro, I've always stood up for the mannequins but recently I haven't felt them--can we regroup soon? Thanks.

Especially with this one, I hate her, all smug and creepy looking, or it could be the awful outfit. haha


These shoes reminded me of the Prada shoes that took down all the models from the past S|S collection. Not sure why, but they are super gross and I hope to never see them or a knock off in person.

It's my birthday!

It's my birthday, goodbye xxii and hello xxiii. I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July, if you're in America. If you're not in America, happy Saturday!

Thank you all for the wishes, emails, comments, facebook love, texts, whatever! I can't even keep track, it's been incredible. I love you all, even if I'll never have the privilege of meeting many of you in person, I'm so incredibly fortunate that we have found each other.

Giuseppe Zanotti, Issey Miyake, La Perla, Ungaro

Giuseppe Zanotti continues to use an old mannequin from La Perla, I miss the days pre-mannequin. I'm still not sure why they felt the need to mess with a good thing. Just show me the shoes.









This time La Perla Madison gets some shoes from Zanotti to promote in their windows. I think this cross over is super interesting and wonder if any other stores will get into the neighborly spirit.


Maybe it's the confusion at the house itself, but these windows were just so...I can't explain it, they just came off confused. Too matchy matchy?

Tom Ford, Prada, Chloe, Gucci, Donna Karan

I can't explain my love of Tom Ford. Originally I was so disappointed that it's been at least 2 months and no display change [outside of the clothes] and wanted to complain about it. But I love the clothes. It's all good. Even if he put on a simple black velvety background, it would be just as good. Or better yet, his signature chocolate brown. I think the folks at Tom Ford should look into my new idea.

Do you remember when you were good? Because I'm starting to forget that there was ever a golden era. Aside from a horrid collection [...Zara called] but the display? Seriously? This? Okay, sure, why not. Please start your rebranding soon or I'm afraid it's not going to look good for you soon.
